The Hardest $35 I Ever Made

A caddy plies his tradeImage via Wikipedia
Yesterday, I went out on my first loop as a caddie. Let me just say that being a caddie is not nearly as easy as it looks. Before yesterday, I had been in the shack a few times talking to some experienced caddies. They had massive wads of cash, and they told me what a great job it is. They also said that the real money comes when you start "double-bagging."

If you cannot guess, that means carrying two golf bags 18 holes while providing yardages and holding the pin and all the other duties of a caddie for two players. When they told me this, I thought, "That sounds like a wonderful gig." Anyway, that before my first loop. It was 92 degrees yesterday here in sunny Colorado. I drank like four bottled waters, and I was tired after 9 holes. The last 9 were absolutely excruciating. I'm no small person, but it would be impossible for me to carry two bags. That is simply ludicrous.

Of course, being the hard headed, stubborn person that I am, I signed up to caddie four times next week. By the end of the summer, I should be ripped like the fricken Hulk.
